Caring

Love for others is the second greatest command and is to be a hallmark trait of Christians. At Ackerman Church of Christ we hope to teach from God's Word how to love and then to actually live it out by His strength. A few of the ways in which we look to love those in our lives would include: offering financial assistance to those in times of house fire, bereavement, sickness, out of work, etc...; support of children's homes in Mississippi and in Nicaragua; care for widows; grocery & utility assistance for those going through difficut times; help provide needed school items for local students; pay camp fees for children that might not otherwise go.

Learning

One of the main instructions given to the leaders of the church was to be able to teach. Leaders are also commanded to equip the saints so that they can also carry out the work of the minsitry, and this exactly what our skilled teachers desire to do.

Coming to our services should be a time of worship and fellowship, but also of mental strengthening. Sermons are understandable but yet stimulating to the mind with respect to accurate doctrine and implication.  Bible classes are provided as an opportunity to further one's knowledge and strengthen his faith.

Going

The Great Commission of Matthew 28 and Mark 16 tells us that we must be going into all the world, making disciples of persons in all nations. At Ackerman Church of Christ, we aim to take that seriously by using whatever means we have to promote worldwide missions.

We currently support missionaries in foreign countriesr.

Summer Camp!

Summer camp weeks are quickly approaching.  We take a group to Maywood Christian Camp each summer the week that Jeff Goff is director.  This year that week is July 17-23, 2016!   Be sure to get the registration completed for your child or teen so that his or her place can be reserved. Space is limited, so once the camp reservations are full they will be on a waiting list.

These week-long experiences are filled with fun and games, friends and leaders, good food and good teaching. It's a time that our youth will not forget. Scholarships are available so please ask our local leadership for more information if needed.
